Your Baby
Your baby is already mugging for the camera as she practices all sorts of facial expressions, such as squinting, yawning and grimacing, which will come in handy when you introduce her to pureed spinach. Check out what else is happening in utero:
You're just getting comfortable with being a new mom, but you're actually on the road to being a grandma. If your baby is a girl, her uterus is fully developed and the ovaries already hold primitive egg cells. Did that just make you feel a thousand years old, or what?
Your baby's skin is still translucent and wrinkly, not unlike an old man's, but more fat will soon accumulate under the dermas to plump her out. If you could peer inside right now, you'd be able to see all of her veins under her skin. And speaking of veins, your baby's heart now pumps about 25 quarts of blood per day, and she hasn't even seen Orlando Bloom yet! Also, her eyes are now locked and loaded at their final destination, facing forward rather than to the sides. (Whew!)
This is the week women get an amniocentesis, if their doc recommends it. In addition to supplying doctors with a boatload of info about the baby's health, amnios are also more than 99 percent accurate in determining what version of baby you'll be having. So if you want to know and you're getting an amnio, now's a great time to find out for sure.
Your baby weighs about 3 ounces this week and measures between 4 and 5 inches, about the length of your mascara.
Baru balik dari rutin check-up baby tadi. Alhamdulillah....everything is went well hingga saat ini. This time x dpt nak chit chat with our doc pilihan...Dr Ita bercuti sehingga ke 10 Disember 10 kerana menjadi tetamu Allah menunaikan fardhu haji, didoakan semoga selamat pergi dan pulang dengan segala urusan dipermudahkan olehNya..aminnn....
As always, mmg sampai kebas punggung (kerusi menunggu pun tdk selesa, cepat2 lah berpindah ke bangunan baru.....haihh!) terasa menanti giliran. Konon kali ni pegi belah pagi pulak...hrp2 x ler ramai orang...ermm, betul dah org x brp ramai tapi doktor bertugas pulak sorang ajer......owhhh! sampai 2 jam kami menunggu.....dah layanan doc hanya dlm 15 min, ermm...apa nak buat....:(. Yang buat saya agak gelisahnya ialah sbb perut msh tdk diisi, saya hanya minum susu Mamil Mama dan 2 keping biskut shj....sudah terasa mcm pening kepala menahan lapar.....
Alhamdulillah....
Result blood test tempohari semuanya berada dlm keadaan stabil. Dan kenaikan berat saya pun normal seperti yang dijangka perlu naik 2 kg shj menjadi total berat dah cecah 72kg sekarang ni (total seme dah naik 6 kg nih...huhu). Blood pressure pun ok....lega rasa hati.
Masa scan, nampak baby sangat aktif (mungkin sbb dia pun lapar..kan ibunya sedang menahan lapar huhuh). Doc amik ukuran kepala, kaki (kata doc kaki dia panjang), perut dan berat baby. Dan gud news keduduakn rahim saya sudah naik berada di atas. Semuanya ok..alhamdulillah....
Next check-up sebulan dr sekarang. Ada pesanan dr Doc, next check nk test tuk Diebetes, kena minum air gula (apa rasanya?..best ke?)..kena puasa sebelum datang klinik sbbnya penah ada history kontraksi masa Inas dulu....ermm, b4 this check-up ngan Doc Ita, x de pulak dia suarakan perkara ini...ermm x pelah, ikut shj mana yang patut dan baik untuk ibu dan baby okehh!...
your physical changes this week
•This week the fundus, or top or your uterus, will be around 16cm from your pubic bone. This means you may well be starting to show and it is becoming obvious you are pregnant.
•You may find your gums are sensitive and bleed easily when you brush your teeth. Change your toothbrush regularly and avoid using any texture other than soft. Brush twice a day, floss daily and don’t forget to brush the back of your tongue-where decay causing bacteria breed. Make sure you have at least one dental check-up during your pregnancy. Gingivitis, inflammation of the gums, is one of the risk factors for premature labour so now, more than ever, your oral hygiene is ultra important.
•You might still be prone to constipation and a general slowing down in the bowel department. Water, roughage, fruits, vegetables, grain based cereals and exercise are all naturally effective remedies to keep the bowel working as it should.
•You are likely to have an increase in your vaginal discharge which, though annoying, is not necessarily a sign of infection. During pregnancy it is usually milky white or clear, but unless it causes itching or smells don’t be concerned. The mucous producing cells in your vagina play a protective role in keeping infection at bay.
•You may find you get sharp twinges of pain on the sides of your tummy now. Those ligaments and muscles which are supporting your enlarging uterus are getting a work out and sometimes they protest. Try not to move suddenly, sit when you can and avoid standing for long periods if possible. If this is affecting your work, ask your supervisor if you can modify your work area to make it a bit more comfortable for you. Huggies.com
